Dreams Can Come True (with really hard work)!

Me and my husband in our younger and lighter days
Our flock of Bantam Chickens

This is my first (I guess technically my second but really my first blog) blog!!

I have been thinking about this for a very long time. If you are anything like me though, it’s important to do some research. My dreams are finally coming true. I have worked very hard throughout the years for them to become realized. I waited until my late 30s to become a mother and wife. If I wait any longer for this blog, I may not actually do anything. I do not want to look back in 10 years with regrets so here goes…

A little bio about me

I am married a wonderful man that I share a 4 year old son with. We did not meet until we were in our mid 30s but it was an incredible stroke of luck that we met at all. An friend of many years invited me to their house for a 4th of July barbeque. He was there with some mutual friends and it was love at first sight. Well, maybe it was a little longer than that but we have basically been inseperable ever since.

We decided to have a family and bought a house in a rural part of south Texas about a year ago. It has truly been a dream come true. I have worked so hard to make the dreams that I had into a reality. Living in a rural area definitely has it’s ups and downs. I love the peace and quiet but I am less of a fan of the commute to and from work.

I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. We love to spend time on the beautiful river that is in our backyard. We kayak and canoe along the river and explore the desserted island that is on the river. I guess it is actually a lake but the dam has been broken for over a year. There is talk of renovation but I don’t think it’s a priority for anyone.

Over the past years we have created a beautiful home but we still have a lot of work to do. Like I said, the home is located on a lake and there is so much potential for the water front space. Progress has been phenomenal. I will post photos of the immense improvements we have made since moving in. I will continue to post the progress as it happens and look forward to sharing my journey with you.

Why a blog?

Work is an unfortunate necessity for many of us and my job supplies my family with insurance and a steady stream of income however, it has lost it’s “magic”. Remember getting that first paycheck, and how rich you felt? What happened??

Life has been hard for a lot of people over the last three years. The pandemic has created an eye opening look at some serious deficencies in our society. The only control we have is over ourselves and how we respond to the world around us. I am not going to lie, I have no idea what I am doing but I want to put myself out there and see what happens. Dreams can come true and working hard is definitely worth it.

Are you interested in creating delicious meals for your family, designing a beautiful, backyard oasis, or simply trying to do anything better? This is the blog for you and I am so excited to be taking this adventure with you by my side.

This blog is going to be all about trying to be the best version of ourselves and live the best life we can.
